Developed as part of the Gundam.E Project to further advance mobile suit technology. It uses a more sophisticated DDR engine (DualDrive reactor) than the one equipped on the mass produced flag model the FR-MS-0097 PERSEUS , allowing for a greater capacity in both thrust and overall manoeuvrability.
It's outer body shell is also a huge advancement, manufactured using newly formed techniques that allow the alloy to be 5.78% lighter than that currently used on the PERSEUS, whilst still having the same durability and impact tolerance.
